Five Days: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe The whole is somehow less than the sum of its parts. And yet "Five Days" rewards with enough gripping moments to make it worth investigating. May 20, 2020 Full Review Five Days: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Scott Tobias AV Club Am I crazy here? Anyone else banging their heads against the wall in frustration or am I missing some buried profundities? Rated: C May 20, 2020 Full Review Five Days: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Brian Lowry Variety There's something to be said for the leisurely rhythm of "Five Days," but ultimately, it demonstrates that an overabundance of time can prove equally deflating. May 20, 2020 Full Review Five Days: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Brian Gibson Vue Weekly (Edmonton, Alberta) Pulses with an underlying distrust of an overworked, PR-driven police force that's a necessary social burden. . . . also offers a sense of family fractured, people isolated and lost in their pain, that's rarely seen on film or television these days. Joe C Great cast with McTeer, Malahide & Woodward being stand-outs for me. Managed to balance a lot of characters and threads with just a bit of stagnation with the Matt/Mother-in-Law/Stalker Girl nexus. Glad it wasn't longer, but might've been more effective if conceived as Four Days. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/14/24 Full Review Stahl M Don't bother - plodding, poor character development and a horrible conclusion. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/23 Full Review ginger b The cast doesn't disappoint one bit, but despite that and a promising storyline, it just fizzles toward the end...to the point that it doesn't make sense. Just okay. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Season 1.TERRIBLE!!This was one of the worst shows I've ever watched. I thought having a decent cast would have made it worth watching but I was wrong. I was lost through most of it...and kept watching because I was curious as to what really happened. I couldn't tell if they were law enforcement or reporters. So many questions...Maybe because I was bored and annoyed I may have missed the answers....butWhy was the one officer (Tops?) always amused?...made no sense. Is Simonne related to Matt? why was she always at his house? why was Sarah always there? Why haven't the police figured ANYTHING out?? I suffered through it hoping it would get better and have some sort of powerful ending...but nope... The end was bad too. I wish I hadn't wasted my time Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Felt like five years. Plodding, dreary, poorly acted. Turned it off after two episodes. There's too much better stuff out there to watch than this. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review jackson m Given exposure thanks to HBO Max, the show's a decent yet uncompelling time filler. Good for your lunch break. The tones and character development are way too inconsistent and shaky. The writers didn't know what they wanted to do. Then, as they try to tie it up, the resolutions to it all just seem lazy and and a bit uninteresting. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
