THE BEST SLIME PUTTY CONSISTENCY

If you are used to our other slime recipes, this is a different consistency! Definitely more putty like and firmer but not brittle! We have simple changed the viscosity of this liquid. Have you read up on your slime science yet?

Where as slime oozes and really spreads when left untouched, this homemade thinking putty recipe is much firmer! Perfect for busy fingers!

It doesn’t spread very much when left on a surface. What makes it so PERFECT is how it feels when you squeeze it. Definitely a stress relieving, therapeutic, sensory rich activity!

Stir it up! At first your putty will look kind of lumpy and stringy! Don’t think you have failed!

Now it’s time to dig in and start kneading the slime until it’s as smooth as the pictures you see here! It just takes a minute or two to get the right consistency.

Once you have stirred all you can stir. It gets pretty tough to stir quickly! Take it out and knead it as you see below.

Dunk in remaining liquid if you find sticky pockets. Dry your hands and continue to knead as needed {haha}.

STORING YOUR PUTTY

You can store your homemade silly putty in any plastic or glass container with a lid. We found these cool little containers at the local dollar store, but we have also seen them at Ikea and Target.

Our little tins have magnets on the back, so our putty sticks to the fridge. Just make sure to wash your hands after you play with it. It is still a science experiment, and borax is not taste safe!

Make a few batches of different colors to keep on hand for everyday use or to give as gifts. Download our free printable labels below!
