Baseball: Noah really finished the season strong. After battling through an injury early in the season that slowed him down, and then coming back from illness, he hit his stride in the month of May. For those last 5 games Noah had a .643 batting average with an On Base Percentage of.722 and a Slugging Percentage of .714. Beyond the Stats, He was a huge presence on our team as our main leader and if I had Captains, he would have been my guy. Noah will be continuing to play baseball somewhere after high school and I have no doubt that he will be as valued there as he has been the past 4 seasons with us. He was selected as 1st Team All-League for the 2nd year in a row, and has been nominated with a chance to play on the All-State team this June. Congrats Noah on a great Season and a giant Month of May.

Softball: Keira has one of the best, most positive attitudes of anyone I’ve coached in my 23 years! She’s an amazing teammate and has an uplifting spirit! She not only demonstrates amazing character, but has really come along with her pitching this past month of season! Our little lefty did amazing in the circle!

Girl’s Track and Field: Addy Adams should be a heptathlete. This year Addy ran the 100m, a leg on the girls 4x100m relay, High Jumped, Long Jumped and Triple Jumped. She did all of these very well with her gifted athletic ability. Addy qualified for the State Track Meet this year in the High Jump and the Triple Jump. her Triple Jump at the State Meet was absolutely amazing. She set personal bests on multiple jumps during the competition and when it was all done she had improved her mark by 2.5 feet. That is an amazing performance at that level of competition. Her lifetime best Triple Jump mark is now 35′ 10.5″ and this earned her 3rd place at the State Track meet.

Boy’s Track & Field: Gavin Williams has had a tremendous end to the 2024 track season. Gavin ran the 100m, was a leg on our 4×100 relay team, long Jumped and Triple Jumped. Gavin qualified for the state meet by jumping a personal best in the triple jump which met the auto qualifying standard. At the State Track Meet Gavin jumped another lifetime best of 44′ 8.25″ on his very first jump which ended up placing him second. Gavin also ran a leg on the 4x100m relay that placed 2nd at the State Track Meet.

Boy’s Tennis: It is with great pleasure to nominate Juan Pablo Olivera and Matias Ruiz, Jr. as June’s Athlete(s) of the Month. From the start of the 2024 tennis season, they were looking forward to a repeat of going to State as a doubles team. There were some strategies we had mentioned at the very end of the 2023 season that couldn’t get worked into their repertoire, but they took it upon themselves to start implementing those on the first few days of practice. During the pre-season, Juan played singles to work on his individual game. He was 2-2 playing 5A schools. When Matias was finally able to play, they were placed in our #1 doubles position. They were undefeated going in District tournament, placing them at the #1 seed with a 9-0 record where they placed 2nd, giving them that repeat State qualifier berth. Juan and Matias went up against Oregon Episcopal School (OES) the #1 seed in the State losing 1-6, 2-6 then playing a hard fought match against Klamath Union losing 6-8. Their overall record was 11-3. Their fun, care-free, self-drive initiative and being competitive without taking the game-so-seriously attitude are the reasons they are our choice this month.

Girl’s Tennis: Arely has improved immensely this season. She started off playing singles and transitioned into doubles, which allowed her to advance further in the district tournament. She has been a pleasure to work with, coachable and flexible. We are looking forward to next season!

Boys Golf: Reagan came in as a freshman this year and immediately proved he belonged with our Varsity golfers. He was one of our steadiest performers this year, and played some of his most solid golf when it mattered the most. He fired two rounds below his season average at the District tournament, and finished as our second best overall scorer both at the District tournament and on the season. He finished 16th overall at the District tournament, and was the only freshman in the top 35. Reagan is also a good student that sported a 3.5+ GPA all season long. We are really excited about what the future holds for Reagan!
